“Emergence" is a collaborative performance piece that examines the relationship between movement, trauma and artefacts. The performance explores how Dionysian impulses can be the vessel for emerging Apollonian characteristics, and how trauma leaves permanent marks in our subconscious.

 Acting as the archetype, Morales dances to the sound of outside stimulus, in his inner world. His energetic impulses as he dances leave permanent marks on the landscape. RAM then takes the floor on which Motomi danced and then turns the artefact of the movement into a figurative representation that symbolizes the mark to the subconscious that the event left after the archetype as recovered from the outside events.

 

This project was developed in collaboration between Motomi Kobayashi, Ahmed Ramirez and TJO under the events of Silk Road : Bali.
